Bato, Biliran - Handmade Papermakers under EVA's unbrella

Bato women make handmade paper using banana stem, abaca and salay plant fibres. EVACF use their paper to line and to improve the outside appearance of our boxes for the ashglaze stoneware. EVACF initially helped them build a new workshop through our forward payments for paper products. On the left we see Bato Women producing paper in their workshop and on the right the finidshed product including one fo EVACF boxes featuring their paper. This particular box is a golf ball and cigar set bespoke for President Ramos.
