Pinatubo Ashglaze Stoneware fundraisers. Cupertino is a livelihood group member "Under EVA's Umbrella". Cupertino Centre is located in Quezon City and cares for the needs of special children and young adults many of whom suffer from Downs Syndrome, Autism or similar syndromes. Cupertino Handmade Paper
Under the guidance of Juan Merin, the young adults have been lovingly trained in the required skills. They are now adept at cutting up leaves of cogon grass, banana-like stalk of abaca, bamboo, talahib and various greeneries. The ability to "cook" these raw materials to the desired consistency has been mastered as has the fine art of slurring, swishing from whirling water the precise thickness of the end produce. The skills of drying, pressing, folding and packaging the lovely sheets of their paper products have also been perfected along with the skill of tinting the paper to specially ordered hues. |
Contact cupertinocenter@yahoo.com for more information on the school and livelihood center products. Cupertino Handmade Paper is special. It is a paper made by extra special people and it is in itself extra special as it has a surface suitable for the most demanding of highly trained calligraphers. Justifiably, the special people of Cupertino Centre are proud of their handwork: Cupertino Handmade Paper. |
