Trapist Contemplative Outreach for the Poor , Guimeras - Coconut charms made under EVA's unbrella

TheTtrapist Contemplative Outreach for the poor set up, in May 1994, a workshop to help local AETA in Sitio Kati-Kati. The Aeta's previous means of livelihood was from hunting, charcoal making, picking wild flowers and selling all the above. All of these activities are hazardous to the fragile ecology of the region. Once the workshop waas set up the Aeta were convinced to stop their hunting and cahrcoal making and instead used and developed their matural skills using cocnut shells as their raw material. They produce many attractive items but for EVACF they have made small charms to enhance the presentation of Mount Pinatubo Ashglaze products - and others.
